Pay it forward….
Give back….
Barr’s Insurance and its employees believe this with all their hearts. They not only provide their clients with the best service and care possible, but spend their “extra” time paying it forward and giving back to the Communities where they work and live.
Some of the areas that Barr’s Insurance as workforce has given back are:
1) Manning weed wackers, leaf blowers, and brooms to clean the Oil City streets before Oil Heritage week in 2013.
2) Employees along with friends and family treck to Sugarcreek Valley Lodge each December to engage the residents in an evening of Christmas caroling. The employees have also (out of their own pockets) donated food for the residents’ New Year’s meal along with cookies and gifts for the night of caroling.
3) Employees gathered donations from businesses of paint, furniture, etc., and spent a weekend of their time updating and creating a great place for kids to experience at Youth Alternatives in Oil City.
These are only a very few of the areas where Barr’s employees have given back to the community while representing Barr’s.
The giving back doesn’t stop there!
Barr’s employees also give back on their own time individually!
They volunteer for United Way, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Rotary club, Forest Co. Business Alliance, Toys for Tots, Flex (Future Leaders & Entrepreneurial Exchange), Venango Chamber, Boy Scouts, Franklin Little League, Venango Conservation District, Barrow Theatre, and several churches and schools. I’m sure I’m missing some!
They take that extra step to do more!
Employee, Christine Benchek, co-founded the Autism Group of Corry (AGOC) to work with parents of Autistic children and train first responders on how to interact with Autistic people during emergencies.
Jason Bidish organized the Children’s Parade this year during Oil Heritage Week for the enjoyment of participants and spectators alike.
I could go on and on, but you get the idea. They give back…. They pay it forward…..
Their challenge to you….where can you give back?
Instead of complaining about how much better communities can be…..ask (and DO) where you can contribute to the betterment of the place you work and live?
