Would your homeowners cover damage caused by a stampeding herd of goats?
According to Bill Wilson, director of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America’s Virtual University, the answer could be “yes”! If a neighbor’s herd of goats somehow get into your house and trash it, there could be coverage. Two stipulations to that are 1) they are not your goats and 2) they are considered “wild”.
A typical All-risk homeowner’s policy will cover your furniture, clothing, and other items in your home, garage, shed, etc. They would be covered typically for things like fire, wind, water damage from broken pipes, falling objects, and so on.
